A Thousand Plus Homes With The Jenkins Foundation By Our Side

Woven Earth team member with flowers for a home.

The Jenkins Foundation has been part of Woven Earth’s journey for five years, supporting specific projects as our needs have evolved. That consistency has meant a great deal to us.

As a small organisation experiencing significant growth, project funding gives us the opportunity to do things beyond our day-to-day work — to stop, reflect, document our impact, tell our story properly and reach people who may never otherwise know what happens after a family leaves violence.

Woven Earth member move a family into a new home

Woven Earth furnished its first home in September 2019, none of us imagined we’d one day be writing about the 1,000th. In March 2026, that day came. It was a milestone worth celebrating but also a powerful reminder of why the work continues. For the past five years, The Jenkins Foundation has been one of those organisations.

Rather than simply funding our core operations, The Jenkins Foundation has supported Woven Earth through project-based funding at important moments in our growth. Through their support it has enabled us to undertake projects that strengthen how we communicate our impact, share the stories of the families we support and build greater awareness of the need for our work.

This year, that support came at a particularly significant moment. Helping us tell the story of 1,000 homes.

Reaching 1,000 homes was never just about a number. We wanted to capture what those 1,000 homes represented — the families, volunteers, agencies, donors and supporters behind them, and the difference a safe, furnished home can make when someone is starting again.

With funding from The Jenkins Foundation, we were able to engage Wills & Co Media to help us leverage this extraordinary milestone and ensure the story of Woven Earth reached a much wider audience.

A welcome home note from the Woven Earth team

Another significant project is the production of our 2026 Annual Report, documenting the year, the impact and the voices of the whānau we have had the privilege of supporting.

This financial year alone, Woven Earth furnished 189 more homes, supported 314 more children and helped 535 people begin again after family violence.

Our role is to help close the gap between escape and recovery by creating a home that is safe, practical and filled with dignity.

We are incredibly grateful for the trust The Jenkins Foundation has placed in Woven Earth over the past five years, and for continuing to walk alongside us as we look towards the next 1,000 homes and beyond.

We invite you to read our 2026 Annual Report and discover the people and stories behind this remarkable milestone.

Thank you, The Jenkins Foundation, for walking alongside Woven Earth and, through us, alongside every family we have the privilege of supporting.
