Te Röpú Rongomau o Aotearoa/The Peace Foundation delivers innovative training in conflict resolution skills to kura (schools) and their wider communities throughout Aotearoa, New Zealand.

We are a registered charity and have been a leader in peace education since 1975. The Peace Foundation is the only organisation in Aotearoa that offers a national programme of peer mediation for primary, intermediate and secondary kura which is contemporary and culturally responsive for tangata whenua. In order for our kura to receive 'best practice' in the way the Peace Foundation delivers its training for both kaiako (teachers) and ākonga (student learners), our team of six national facilitators needs to be confident, engaging, aware and skilled. The team including our awesome administrator, also needs to be connected in the content they are delivering and informed in the administration responsibilities required of them.

Huge gratitude and thanks to The Jenkins Foundation for their insightful funding grant to the Peace Foundation which supported our first national facilitator's retreat in four years. This event definitely achieved its purpose of team building. Feedback from participants indicated that everyone felt a greater sense of tühononga, manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and kotahitanga at the end of the four day experience. This bodes well for working together successfully as a team in the future despite the fact we live in locations al around the motu (country).
